the winds are changing
on my mind
‘Tis the season for pumpkins, butternut squash and apples, road trips to the mountains, baking, pulling out sweaters, and contemplating how we found ourselves in October already. This is my favorite season, hands down. I find myself chasing after any bit of daylight and chilly air I can get each day.
I’ve been trying to manage my anxiety around the election, but watching the debates definitely did not help that. So instead I turn my attention to things I can control in this season of change. Shopping for produce in season and learning new recipes to use them. Decorating my office and creating a functional space to be my best self. Working out or doing yoga in the morning to get in touch with my body and mind.
How are you managing the transition to cooler weather, shorter days and the end of the year breathing down our necks? I’m also happy to trade favorite fall recipes and activities so we can help make each other cozy and comfortable from a distance.
I’ll leave you with this classic song from Fleetwood Mac that has been stuck in my head all week thanks to a recent TikTok video.
what i’m noting
Reading physical books again // Too much screen time has motivated me to read less articles and get back into reading books with pages I can actually touch. I’m really excited to get cozy with this nice stack of books and wanted to share what’s on my list for the next few months. I’ve got a new routine of reading at dinner or in the patio outside my apartment building. It feels so strange to be away from devices that constantly ping and buzz with notifications and my brain definitely has to work a bit to concentrate, but I can feel the difference! Right now, I’m in the middle of the novel Circe and highly recommend it.

Based off the poll I shared with you all, there was a tie between wanting to get this newsletter on Friday mornings or Sunday mornings. I made the executive decision to send it out on Sunday mornings, so this will be the last Friday NbN. Hopefully that won’t hurt your chances of being able to read it on time and will give you something to enjoy as the Sunday scaries hit.
Remember, you can always hit reply to this email if you want to share what you’re noting or just say hi. Have a good weekend!
