good bones
on my mind
I’ve been head down with work and clumsily trying to keep up with National Novel Writing Month, which hasn’t left me a whole lot of time for anything else. My thoughts have also been with Eritrea and Ethiopia with the recent fighting that’s broken out in Ethiopia’s Tigray region and the bombing of Eritrea’s capital.
Hope you are all doing well in these short day and long nights. Here’s a poem by Maggie Smith that I enjoy coming back to when it’s hard to see the good in all the chaos and terrible news we’re wading through.
what i’m noting
Season 4 of Netflix’s The Crown // I have only started watching this new season because of the Princess Diana storyline. I had to read Wikipedia at the same time to catch up on all the British history and royal family and to remember who everyone was and their relationship to each other. So far, I’m really impressed by the acting and cinematography, and will probably go back and watch the earlier seasons at some point.
Instagram is dead // Instagram is my most used app and I only just got on TikTok (with much trepidation), but I appreciate this argument for why IG just isn’t the same in our pandemic times and what makes a platform catchy and compelling.
Playful art projects // We need more indoor activities that don’t make you have to stare at a screen more. Enjoy some of these easy art projects! I’m also obsessed with this Yoobi scratch art pad that makes me feel like I’m a real artist and is my new doodling activity.
